American animal rights activist Beth Winters (Judy Morris) goes missing in the Australian outback while on assignment investigating the slaughter of kangaroos by a prominent pet food manufacturer. Looking for answers, her husband, Carl (Gregory Harrison), arrives in the small town where Beth was last seen, only to be informed by the police that it is presumed Beth must have fallen down one of the area's many abandoned mine shafts. But a local veteran hunter, Jake Cullen (Bill Kerr), believes otherwise. With the help of Jake and a beautiful young scientist, Sarah Cameron (Arkie Whiteley), Jake soon discovers a new breed of terror as he finds himself ensnared in a harrowing battle for survival between man and beast...
